It was an early morning in June of 2020 When I realized I was in a dream. I was in a field and the sun was just starting to come up over the horizon. I was standing behind an old fashion plow, and I was plowing a huge field. As I looked around I saw field after field after field, full of vegetation. When I turned back to the plow I noticed that the field I was in was a new field but the ground I was plowing was rich dark soil, and it was not a struggle for the plow to make its rows.
As I plowed row after row off in the distance I could see what looked like a town. I saw flickering lights like that of a fire cascading across the sky and white wisps of smoke coming up from this town. When I saw this I started walking towards the town. As I got closer I could hear music, joyful music like that you would hear at a Jewish wedding or party. As I started to enter the outskirts of the town I began to see people hundreds and hundreds of people, men, women, boys, and girls and they were all celebrating. I saw the woman dancing in beautiful flowing gowns, these gowns were vibrant, light and wispy, and full of color. I saw men in loose pants and light wispy shirts that would flow as they danced. Children running around the town playing and singing and laughing.
I passed hundreds of people as I continued toward the center of town. When I finally made it to the town center I heard such joyful music playing. I heard drums, trumpets, flutes, guitars, tambourines, and maracas. The music would transition from one style of music to the next. I heard Jewish influence, I heard middle eastern influence, I heard Blue Grass influence, I heard Modern influence. But no matter what it sounded like the people celebrated. I saw people throwing colorful dust in the air and as it fell it covered the people with color. Bright Reds, Greens, Yellows, Blues, Pinks, and Orange dust covered the people. My head was on a swivel there was so much going on but as I looked closer at the makeup of the town center, it was a circle made up of houses. On each house hung a sign and on each sign there was a name. I saw names like Abide, Cornerstone, Ignited, City Gate, The Resting Place, and many many others. The town was decorated for a festive event. From each house, there were hanging flags, banners, and streams of lights crisscrossed from house to house and every door of each house was open and I saw people going in and out of the houses. There was food and drink and everyone was smiling and laughing.
In the center of town, I saw people dancing in a circle, these circles were very large and there were multiple circles of people. They were all holding hands and singing and dancing together. I would see them dance and raise their hands and move closer together. Then they would lower their hands and move further apart. One circle would move in one direction and another circle would move in the opposite direction. It was so beautiful to see all the colors of the clothing and the people moving together as one, singing and dancing and spinning and twirling and jumping and laughing. I continued to move between the circles closer to the center of town. There were at least 4 or 5 circles of people dancing.
When I finally made it to the center of town in the middle of it all I saw Jesus in beautiful colorful robes and he was dancing, twirling, and laughing. I would see men and women and children every so often break through the circles and come up and dance with Jesus. Some He would take their hand and would twirl and spin them, some he would put his hands on his knees wiggle his body and go lower and lower as he danced. 4 or 5 children would come up and form a little circle around him and dance around Jesus. He would just tilt his head back and laugh. The smile never left his face.
As I stood there watching all of this, Jesus motioned for me to come closer to him. I went and stood beside Him, He put his arm over my shoulder and looked me in the eye with a joyful smile on his face, and said.
“I will say it again. The old sound must die. For I desire a new sound in my church. These new sounds will be made up of many cultures and influences from all over the world. This new sound will bring Joy back to my people. Prepare for the Joy and celebration of my wedding feast. I desire that my people shed off their trepidation and stop recreating what has already been sung for I am giving my church new songs. I am giving my people new sounds. In their tarry they have lost the Joy that I give because they continue to sing and recreate old sounds and old songs. Just as old wineskins should not be used for new wine, neither should my people continue to live in the songs of yesterday for my mercies are new every day. Their advisory has planted words of insecurity, trepidation, and doubt in their hearts so they are fearful to step out and be creative in my presence. They are fearful to dance before me as David danced. But this is the Joy I desire. I am giving them fresh creativity that will restore the songs of my Joy. I desire that my people lift up their heads and dance before me in joyful expressions. For it is my joy that gives them their strength to fight this battle, to plow the ground, to plant the seeds, and to reap the harvest. Without the strength found in my joy, they will grow weary and faint. It is in this joy where I will restore and renew my people. I desire for my people to be festive in my presence and to laugh and sing and dance with me again. Stop being so serious all the time and have fun in my presence. Do not be like Michal and despise or be fearful of being exuberant or undignified in My presence as that results in barrenness. The ground is fertile and ready for planting, the soil is rich and full of nutrients. I am releasing the sounds of Joy from the heart of my people that will call and draw those who are lost. I want my children to take back the creativity I alone put inside them but that the enemy has stolen from them. I am calling you out of the familiar and into something new and exciting. Stretch yourself in my presence. It is time for my children to create and sing new songs, songs of Joy, and dance with me. For I am a happy and good God and I desire that my children live continuously in my exuberant Joy. Let my word of Joy burn within your heart and rest in your spirit.
